This place is absolutely delicious! The noodles in the 짜장면 are perfectly balanced—not too thick or thin, and cooked just right. The 짬뽕 has just the right level of spice, full of rich flavor that melts away your stress. As for the sweet and sour pork, it's a perfect combination of textures—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. 100% recommend! Definitely worth every penny.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for casual dining. Jjajangmyeon and Jhambbong are great options. The portions are generous Prices are reasonable.
ManRiJangSeong in Coquitlam offers authentic Korean-Chinese fusion cuisine in a cozy, family-friendly setting. Their signature dishes, including jjajangmyun, jjampong, and gganpoonggi, are prepared with care and bursting with flavor. The jjajangmyun features a savory black bean sauce with generous portions of meat and vegetables, while the jjampong boasts a spicy seafood broth filled with shrimp and mussels. The gganpoonggi offers crispy chicken coated in a sweet and tangy sauce with a hint of pineapple. Portions are generous, ensuring a satisfying meal for all. The friendly and attentive staff enhance the dining experience, making it a must-visit for Korean cuisine enthusiasts. Sorry for the pictures of half eaten dishes because they were too good to resist.
Update: We went for the second time and we are happy that the food is still great and tasty! Consistency is so important and glad it did not disappoint. We ordered the same dishes plus Jjamppong. The Jjamppong was delicious! The broth was spicy but flavourful. We will come back and try more dishes. What a great meal! The food was delicious and the portion is generous. The tangsuyuk coating was light and crispy its sauce in the bowl was sweet and flavourful. The fried chicken's batter was also light and crispy and it was coated with a nice sweet tangy sauce that has a nice kick to it. The jjajangmyeon was delicious, noodles are nice and chewy, the sauce was good with seafood and waterchestnuts mixed in it. I look forward to try their jjamppong (spicy seafood soup noodles)! We saw another table had it and it looks great!
Good korean food. We ordered family combo and the portion was very generous. For 4 adults & 1 kid, we had plenty of leftover for lunch the following day. - Tangsuyuk: our favorite! The pork was juicy yet the coating was super crispy. The most delicious part was the sauce! It had the perfect acidity and sweetness for the fried pork. - Kkanpungki: good. The chicken pieces were big and the meat was juicy. The coating was crispy. The sauce was good but we had better sauce. - Tray Jajangmyeon: the noodle was perfectly cooked (chewy but still had a bite). The black bean sauce was delicious and there were plenty of seafood and ground pork pieces.
The food was excellent, with fresh and flavorful seafood. The server was exceptional, ensuring we had everything we needed. Prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous.
We don't often have Korean food but we wanted to try this place since they just opened where Kam Ding used to be. We also didn't know the portion sizes but it turned out to be really big so we ended up with enough leftovers for a second meal! The food was tasty so we enjoyed it. Most of the dishes are spicy but just right for us. A senior couple arrived and sat at the next table. They sounded like they are Italian and were also looking to try Korean food. We helped them choose a non-spicy dish!
David's Overall Recommendation Taste Price Kindness Comfort Cleanliness I visited this restaurant around 4:30 pm, which is a bit early for dinner. A female server welcomed me, and she was very friendly. I ordered the combo with Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). About 10 minutes later, all three dishes arrived together. The Tangsuyuk seemed to be fried in clean oil, and both the meat and the batter were exceptional. (Having worked in the restaurant industry, I could tell the frying oil was fresh.) The Jajangmyeon and Jjamppong were delicious too, but the Tangsuyuk was the highlight. The portions were generous, with all the food being flavorful and filling. There were a couple of minor downsides: 1. After the food was served, although the restaurant wasn’t busy, no one came by to check on the food or refill the side dishes. But with food this tasty, it was easy to overlook. 2. They were playing a Charlie Puth medley, which didn’t quite match the restaurant’s vibe. (Just a playful comment!) There’s parking available, though not a lot. The restrooms are separated for men and women. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant. The food is incredibly tasty and clean.
